The studio is based at Cockpit Arts Deptford in London, which serves as a creative sanctuary, born from a deep appreciation for craft and material exploration. Founded by Ho Lai, who was trained at the Royal College of Art, the studio collection is influenced by the Japanese Mingei (Folk Craft) Movement and a commitment to timeless craftsmanship. Ho’s ceramics journey began with crafting tableware for fine dining restaurants in 2013 and honing her skills in creating functional wares that elevate everyday experiences. She believes in finding enchantment in the simple moments of daily life—through handcrafted objects that are not only functional but also poetic.
